The Ñentre for Problems of Globalization and Integration has released the tenth issue of Analytical Bulletin, based on the materials of joint Russian-Ukrainian round-table "Topical Problems of Russia- the Ukraine Economic Cooperation: Harmonization of Interests Methods", held on April 13, 2007. The bulletin is dedicated to contemporary problems and perspectives of the Russia-Ukrainian cooperation both in economic and political spheres.

The Ñentre for Problems of Globalization and Integration has released the ninth issue of Analytical Bulletin. The bulletin embraced articles, dedicated to issues of the formation and development of integration groupings in post-Soviet space.

On April 22, 2006 the research fellow of the Centre A.A.Abalkina made a statement "Asymmetries of EU-Russia Relations" at the international conference in Helsinki (Finland), "The Two-Level Game: Russia's relations with Great Britain, Finland and the European Union" organized by The Aleksanteri Institute, University of Helsinki, jointly with the National Finnish Research and Development Foundation.

Deputy Head of the Centre for Problems of Integration Mikhail Golovnin, Ph.D (Econ.), was awarded the Scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation for Junior Scientists' and Their Research Supervisors Support 2006 (see here).

On April 3, 2006 Head of the Centre, Member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Lebedev hosted a press conference on "Destiny of Russian Investment Projects in Ukraine: Arrest of Vladimir Tkach and Hotel Ukraine Conflict are Parts of One Sequence". On March 28, 2006 Centre for Problems of Integration celebrated its first anniversary! During this time it proved itself as a fruitful research group. Its results include the publishing of three issues of the Analytical Bulletin, the "Concept of Interrelations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine in the Inter-Parliamentary Sphere", two research reports, and participation in public contractual research. Research fellows of the Centre presented their papers at Conferences in Russia and abroad (in Finland, Germany, UK, Hungary, Ukraine) and published about 30 articles. Currently the Centre employs eight researchers with an average age of 27.6 years.

On March 12, 2006 the session Russian-Ukrainian Political Club "Dialog" in Kiev with participation of Ruslan Grinberg, Director of the Institute of Economics RAS, Alexander Lebedev, Head of the Centre for Problems of Integration, and Mikhail Golovnin, Deputy Head of the Centre, took place. The Centre for the Problems of Integration presented its draft of the "Concept of Interrelations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine in the Inter-Parliamentary Sphere". On March 2-3, 2006 junior research fellow of the Centre Daria Ushkalova participated in a Russian-Ukrainian Research Conference on "Ukraine in a Union: Pros and Cons" in Zaporozhie, Ukraine.

On March 1, 2006 senior research fellow of the Centre Alexander Libman, Cand.Sc.(Econ.) presented his paper on "Distribution of Tax Authorities in an Asymmetric Federation: Russian Experience" within the framework of a research seminar of the Department of International Economic and Political Studies of the Institute of Economics RAS. The third issue of the Analytical Bulletin is now available. The issue pays special attention to the interaction of Russian corporations and multinationals in the CIS, influence of the WTO accession of Russia and Belarus on the perspectives of the Union State, comparative analysis of popular assessment of integration in the EU and in the post-Soviet region, experience of financial amnesty in Kazakhstan and Georgia for Russia.

On February 8, 2006 the Centre for Problems of Integration hosted a conference presenting its draft of the "Concept of Interrelations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine in the Inter-Parliamentary Sphere". On November 23-25, 2005 Daria Ushkalova, junior research fellow of the Centre, presented its paper on "Formats of Integration of Russia and Byelorussia" at a session of the Inter-Academic Council on Development of the Union State in Novgorod-the-Great.

The second issue of the Analytical Bulletin of the Centre for Problems of Integration is now available online. The bulletin includes ongoing analysis of integration processes in the post-Soviet space and worldwide and of the current trends in the economies of the CIS states.

On November 11, 2005 Alexander Libman, senior research fellow of the Centre, presented his paper "Institutional Competition and Evolution of Perception of Norms" at the EAEPE Annual Conference on "A New Deal for the New Economy? Global and Local Developments, and New Institutional Arrangements" in Bremen, Germany. The paper (in English) is available here.

On November 9, 2005 Alexander Libman, senior research fellow of the Centre, presented his paper "Postsowjetischer Raum: Wirtschaftsordnungen, Integration und Institutionenwettbewerb" at the Philipps University Marburg, Germany.

On October 28-29, 2005 Anna Abalkina, research fellow of the Centre, presented her paper "Russia and the EU within the framework of cooperation programs" at the international conference on "Agenda 2007: Regional Dimensions of the EU Policy Changes within the Context of the Neighbourhood Strategy" organized by the Baltic Research Centre, Government of St. Petersburg, Consulates of Finland and Poland in St. Petersburg.

On October 28, 2005 Alexander Libman, senior research fellow of the Centre, presented his paper "Bottom-Up and Top-Down Integration in the Post-Soviet Space" at the CSGR/CIGI/UNU-CRIS conference on "Regionalisation and the Taming of Globalisation? Economic, Political, Security, Social and Governance Issues" in Warwick, UK.

On October 25, 2005 Alexander Lebedev, Head of the Centre, Mikhail Golovnin, Deputy Head of the Centre, and Anna Abalkina, research fellow of the Centre, presented their papers at the round table on "Banking Activity on Financial Markets: International Experience and Russian Practice" at the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, Moscow.

On October 22-23, 2005 the International Forum "Russian-Ukrainian Dialogue" supported by the Russian non-profit organization "National Investment Council" took place in Alushta, Ukraine. Alexander Lebedev, Head of the Centre, Mikhail Golovnin, Deputy Head of the Centre, and Ekaterina Klyushova, research assistant of the Centre, participated in the work of the Forum. The Centre presented its project on "Concept of Interparliamentary Relations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine".

On October 6-7, 2005 Anna Abalkina, research fellow of the Centre, presented her paper "Integration of Banking systems of CEE countries to EU: lessons for Russia" at the international conference on social sciences in Budapest, Hungary. Oleg Rykhtikov, research assistant of the Centre, also participated in the conference.

On July 29, 2005 The first issue of the Analytical Bulletin of the Centre for Problems of Integration is now available online. The bulletin includes ongoing analysis of integration processes in the post-Soviet space and worldwide. We are planning to publish the Analytical Bulletin on regular basis.

On July 2, 2005 research fellow Alexander Libman presented his paper "Globalization and Outcomes of Institutional Competition" at SASE Annual Meeting on Socioeconomics "What Counts? Calculation, Representation, Association" in Budapest. The paper was awarded the SASE Eastern European Stipend. The paper (in English) is available here

On June 8, 2005 the Centre for Problems of Integration of the IIEPS RAS published a research report entitled "Threats to Russian interests in Ukraine" (available only in Russian).

On April 19, 2005 Head of the Centre A.E. Lebedev, deputy head of the Centre M.Yu. Golovnin and research assistant of the Centre D.I. Ushkalova presented the results of the ongoing research at the conference "Tendencies and Perspectives of the Formation of Common Economic Space of the CIS: Financial, Monetary and Banking Aspects" at the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation.

On April 7, 2005 Head of the Centre A.E. Lebedev presented the paper "Common Economic Space: Integration Opportunities from the Part of the Business and "Open Regionalism" at the First Integration Forum "Common Economic Space of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine: Opportunities, Problems and Perspectives", organized by the Foundation "Nasledie Evrasii (Heritage of Eurasia)", the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation and the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation.
