A.M. Libman’s statement "Economic Theory and Social Sciences on Economy: Some Trends of Development" provides a review of the basic theoretical and empirical directions, constituting contemporary economioc research, both within the framework of economic theory and other social sciences. Two classifications of economic research, based upon methodology and segments of academic community are presented. Advantages and disadvantages of methodological approaches and communication formats are analyzed. The directions for evolution of economic theory mainstream, empirical and experimental turn in economy are discussed.
