The collapse of the Soviet Union at the end of 1991 and the formation of new Russia – the Soviet Union’s successor, have opened a new chapter in century-long Russian- Polish relations. The monograph is devoted to the analysis of bilateral relations – political, social, economic and cultural – in 1990s at the start of this century as well as to forecast of their development in the 21st century. Brief review of their history in the 19th-20th centuries has been provided in the introductory chapter in order to clarify complexities and problems in the contemporary Russian-Polish relations.
