- On April 3, 2008 in the conference-hall of DIEPS IE RAS at the session of the Academic Council "International Economic and Political Studies" the debates on the statement "Modernization of the CIS Countries’ Economies: National, Regional and Global Factors" were held. Presenter – Ph.D. (Econ.) Alexey V. Shurubovich, co-presenter Dr. (Econ.) Elena B.Lenchuk.
Not qualifying for providing complete analysis of complicated and multi-scale modernization problem of the CIS states’ economies, the present report has an objective to reveal the role and correlation of national, regional and global modernization factors at the current stage and to display possible ways to improve the role of mutual cooperation and modernization of the participating states’ economies.
The statement draws preliminary results of the studies of economy modernization problems in post-Soviet countries, started by the sector of the CIS and Baltic countries in 2005. On the subject of the study the following materials were prepared: set of papers "Modernization of the Economy: Instruments and Problems. Series: Problems of Post-Soviet Countries, No 8; monograph "Post-Soviet Space in Globalizing World: Modernization Problems" as well as set of papers in academic journals and sets of papers as well as in periodicals.
