Abstract

Volume I of the present two-volume monographic study focuses on the principal trends of economic and political transformations in Russia and Central-Eastern Europe in late 20th - early 21st century, their complexity and consequences as well as the evolving new environment for the development of relations between Russia and the European post-socialist countries. Theoretical aspects of transformation reforms, their practical implementation are investigated. Extensive information and analytical fundament help present the modern state and likely prospects of transformations on the post-socialist space, their common features and the specifics of every single country.
The book will be of interest for a broad spectrum of readers — economists, historians, sociologists, scholars, high school lecturers, postgraduates and students.
