The Round table was organized within the framework of following events, which took place up to R&D schedule of the Agrarian scientific direction of the Centre for comparative economic studies of the IIEPS RAS (head of the Centre - Dr. (Econ.), Prof. Ruben N. Evstigneev).Chief of the Project - leading researcher, Ph.D. (Econ.) Boris Ye. Frumkin, responsible contractor - senior research officer, Ph.D. (Econ.) Lyubov V. Popova.
More than 30 experts and practitioners, undergraduate and graduate students from Moscow, Moscow region, Krasnodar region, Samara and other regions, specializing on the agrarian issues, as well as mass media representatives (of the journals "International agricultural journal", "Food industry", "Torgpred", "Trade representative", "Kombikorma", "Feed stuff", of "Krestyanskiye Vedomosty" newspaper and REN-TV channel) took part in the Round table activities.
In the course the Round table work, chaired by the IIEPS RAS Deputy Director, Prof. Dr. (Econ.) Sergey N. Silvestrov, the following issues were discussed:
- Concept-based approaches to ensuring Russia's regional agricultural security. Speaker - Dr. (Econ.) Prof. V.P.Korovkin, Timiryazev Agricultural Academy;
- Legislative provisions to Russia's agricultural policy, including regional aspect. Speaker - Deputy Director of All-Russia Institute of agricultural economy (VNIESKh) , Dr. (Econ.) A.I.Altukhov;
- Introduction of resource-saving technologies as a factor of stability improvement of agricultural production with an account of Russian regional peculiarities. Speaker- managing director of the Close JSC "Evrotekhnika'" (Samara) , Orlova L.V;
- Regional aspects of Russia's accession to agricultural agreements within the WTO framework, Speaker - Dr. (Econ.), Tarasov V.I. (VNIESKh)
- Development of Russia's trade and economic relations with the European Union and the CIS countries in the agro-industrial sphere. Speaker - Ph.D. (Econ.) Boris Ye. Frumkin, IIEPS RAS
