The Sector for Eastern and South-Eastern Asia

The Sector of Eastern and South-Eastern Asia as a structural formation of the Centre for Comparative Studies of Transformation Processes was formed on October 19, 2006.

Head of the Sector - Marina Yevgenyevna Trigubenko - Ph.D.(Econ.), assistant Professor, a leading expert in the field of international economic relations in Eastern and South-Eastern Asia and country research on Korea, Mongolia, Vietnam, the author of more than 200 published works, inclusive 4 monographs. Marina Ye. Trigubenko was a supervisor of 68 candidate dissertations by Russian and foreign researchers', she educated a whole school of young researchers in Oriental Studies.

Research areas

The main directions of the Centre's research include the comparative analysis of economic reforms in China, Vietnam, Mongolia, profound analysis of the integration processes in North-Eastern Asia under the conditions of globalizing and liberalizing foreign economic activity. Other problems in focus embrace the impact of Asian financial crisis on the East Asian countries, the Korean peninsula problems, Russia's policy in Eastern Asia.

Lyudmila A. Anossova - Dr.(Econ.), principal research officer, Professor, author of more than 150 research works, inclusive 3 monographs, the leading expert in economic problems of China, Korea and Vietnam

Lyudmila I. Kondrashova – Dr. (Econ.) chief research officer, leading expert in studies of contemporary China problems and regional relations, has above 100 published works, inclusive 4 monographs.

Gennady M. Levchenko - senior researcher, expert in economic and foreign economic problems of the People's Democratic Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea, on Russian-Korean relations

Tatyana V. Lezhenina - Ph.D.(Econ.), senior research assistant, expert in integration problems of the Asia-Pacific region, has 20 published works, inclusive 1 monograph.

Maxim B. Meshchaninov – junior research officer, young expert in strategic problems, Mongolia’s economic reform and border cooperation of Mongolia with Russia and China.

Tatyana A. Neyelova - Ph.D.(Econ), senior research assistant - expert on the political situation in People's Democratic Republic of Korea and in the Republic of Korea, author of many published works.

Georgy D. Toloraya – Dr. (Econ.), chief research officer, professor, expert in the field of transformation model studies in Eastern Asia, integration blocks, contradictions, risks, Russia’s foreign policy in the Korean peninsula, author of above 100 printed works, inclusive of 4 monographs.

Galina A. Yaskina – Dr. (Political Science), professor, leading expert in the problems of contemporary Mongolia, China, Vietnam, Russian regional relations and globalization problems, has above 200 published papers, including 5 monographs.

Tatyana P. Rychkova - senior laboratory assistant, specializing in provision of research and informational support of research projects and published papers.
