Head of the Centre: Dr. (Econ.) Alexander Lebedev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Reserve Corporation. Scope of research interests: financial globalization, Russia's integration into the world economy, economic and political integration within the CIS and debt policy. Published research: more than 60 papers, including one monograph.

Deputy Head of the Centre: Mikhail Golovnin, leading research fellow, Ph.D. in Economics. Scope of research interests: monetary and exchange rate policies, banking sector development in transition economies. Responsibilities within the Centre: monetary and financial aspects of integration. Published research: more than 30 articles and papers.

Major research areas: theory of economic integration; comparative integration studies with focus on the European Union and other regional and subregional blocks, specifics and perspectives of integration and cooperation within the CIS region.
Research outlines:
- Bilateral economic relations between Russia and other CIS countries.
- Russia's participation in the CIS and other subregional groups in the CIS space, including Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) and Common Economic Space Agreement (CES).
- Interaction of public and private economic actors in the post-Soviet space.
- International experience of integration with major focus on applicability for the CIS countries.
The aims of the Center include formation of data banks on post-Soviet integration, as well as consulting services for supranational bodies, legislative and executive agencies of the Russian Federation, Russian and foreign business structures in the fields of Russia's integration into the world economy, international institutions, CIS and other regional and subregional blocks.

Researchers:
Alexander Libman, senior research fellow, Cand.Sc.(Econ.), member of the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy, the Central Eurasian Studies Society and the Society for the Advancements of Socioeconomics. Scope of research interests: empirical public economics, institutional economics, new political economy and public choice, international political economy, economics of federations and interjurisdictional competition, theory of power in economics. Responsibilities within the Centre: interaction of business structures in the post-Soviet space; economy and politics of Central Asia and Transcaucasian regions. Published research includes about 90 papers in Russia, Germany, Austria, Indiaand Kazakhstan, about 40 papers presented at conferences and seminars in Russia, UK, Germany, Italy, Hungary and Belarus.

Anna Abalkina, senior research fellow, Ph.D. in Economics (2004). Scope of research interests: foreign bank impact on national economy, Central and Eastern European banking systems, banking cooperation in the CIS countries, activity of multilateral development banks, international experience of regional integration. Ekaterina Furman, senior research fellow, Ph. D. in Political Science (2004). Sphere of academic interests covers political and socio-economic aspects of integration processes in European and post-Soviet spaces, the evolution of political system of the Baltic countries in post-Soviet period. Sphere of responsibility at the Centre: bilateral and multi-lateral relations of the CIS countries in political sphere.
