Head of the CentreAnatoly Nicholaevich Barkovsky, Dr. (Economics), professor of Financial Academy for the Government of RF– the leading expert in world and regional economy, regional studies, foreign economic strategies of the CIS countries and foreign economic activities of the RF subjects. Together with academician of RAS S.A. Sitaryan he was a co-founder of the Centre (before 1998- Institute) of foreign economic studies (TsVEI) RAS in which he was head of the department of inter-regional cooperation problems. In 1999 he was nominated deputy director of TsVEI RAS. Simultaneously in 1991-1999 he worked as RF President’s Councillor for Economy, president, director of Tocobank department of economic analysis.
Author of scientific works with overall volume of above 180 printed quires on issues of economic cooperation of Comecon member-states, Polish economy, integration interaction within the framework of the CIS, its subregional structures and the perspectives of long-lasting development of Russia’s foreign trade and foreign economic policy in the globalizing world (including in 2003-2004 the monograph “Economic strategies of the CIS and Russia”, tutorial “CIS countries’ models of foreign economic cooperation (VES) and issues of mutual cooperation”, the chapter “Innovation vector of CIS countries’ cooperation” in the monograph «Foreign economic problems of Russia’s changeover to innovative way of development»). He devotes a special attention to training of academic personnel, as a professor of the department of world economy and international currency of credit relations of the RF Government Financial Academy.
